PIC: This Kerry Sign Looks Like It Came Straight From An Episode Of Fr Ted

There are many occasions where we say ‘Only In Ireland’ but this is one of the best.

Spotted by ‘Fintan YT Walsh’ on Reddit, this sign in Portmagee, Co Kerry proclaims that the Portmagee Village Public Facility area was hailed as one of the best in the country in the Ireland’s Top Toilet Awards.

Yep, you read that right. There’s, apparently, an award for toilets.

We couldn’t help but notice that Portmagee took the runner-up spot in 2002 so we took to Google to see which site around the country has been awarded the top spot.

As it turns out, the toilet at Gougane Barra National Forest Park in West Cork not only held the prestigious honour of Ireland’s Top Toilet in 2002 but it was also named one of the best in world by Lonely Planet in 2016!

If that’s not worth a road trip, we don’t know what is.
