They may spend their time patrolling the streets and targeting criminals but at the end of the day, the Gardaí are just like us. This fact is often backed up by the force’s quirky Twitter activity and this evening they’ve delivered another gem.
Garda Walsh from Pearse Street came across his namesake Louis on his rounds today and apparently couldn’t resist the opportunity to nab the X Factor star for a selfie.

Judging by the ear-to-ear grins on both mens’ faces it’s fair to assume that Louis’ tax and insurance were up to date and the Gardaí confirmed just that by posting ‘all in order with this driver’, followed by ‘its a yes from us’ in reference to the oft-used phrase on the TV talent show.
If anything, the Mayoman could potentially get locked up for unleashing Jedward onto the world but by the looks of the things the guards are willing to let that one slide.
