The Ireland Women’s Hockey team came face to face with a slimy, slobbering hairball yesterday. But before they met Piers Morgan, they ran into President Michael D. Higgins’ dog at Áras an Uachtaráin.
The President’s dog Bród stole the show at today’s reception to honour the Irish women’s field #hockey team.https://t.co/wUHAFZKUpq

Yep, The Late Late Show returned to our screens last night and brought together our Women’s Hockey World Cup runners-up and the controversial English journalist.
Piers being the social media aficionado that he is, he posed for a pic with the first Irish team to ever reach a field sport World Cup Final. Of course he couldn’t resist making it all about him.
The picture, tweeted to his 6.4 million followers, was captioned ‘Great to meet the ladies from @IreWomenHockey last night – Ireland’s only sporting team to ever reach a World Cup Final. As you can see, they were equally excited to meet a fellow world class athlete.’

To be fair, the girls looked happy to grant Piers his photo request but as for this member of the RTÉ crew? If looks could kill.
