PSA: There’s another Twilight book coming this summer

Sarah Finnan

Ah, remember Twilight?

I don’t know about you but the Twilight saga made up a good portion of my teen years. I read the books, I watched the movies, I tried (and failed miserably) to learn Bella’s lullaby on the piano.

The 2000s were marked by a weird obsession with all things vampires and werewolves but it looks like Stephanie Meyer isn’t ready to close the book just yet, literally and metaphorically speaking, as she’s just announced plans to release a prequel to the Twilight series… 15 years after the first instalment in the saga was released.

Titled Midnight Sun, the novel will be told from Edward Cullen’s perspective – unlike the other novels which are primarily told from Bella’s point of view.

A countdown timer appeared on the author’s website last week sending fans into a frenzy, ultimately causing the website to crash when the timer ran out. However, Stephanie appeared on the TV show Good Morning America just moments later, making the announcement.

“It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure if this was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so, so long. It didn’t seem fair to make you wait anymore.

Sorry about the bad timing. Hopefully, this book can be a distraction from the real world. I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with you.”

Set for release on August 4, that gives us plenty of time to re-read the series, re-watch the movies and maybe even give Bella’s lullaby another go on the piano. One question though… team Edward or team Jacob?
