RTÉ’s Six One News yesterday included a report on the awful Pittsburgh shooting in which 11 people were murdered, and Donald Trump’s response to the tragedy.
Most people were outraged by his response, which blamed the victims for not ‘having protection inside’.
However it was an earlier Trump tweet that was included by RTÉ, which said, ‘Watching the events unfolding in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
‘Law enforcement on the scene. People in Squirrel Hill area should remain sheltered. Looks like multiple fatalities. Beware of active shooter. God Bless All!’
It wasn’t the tweet itself that drew the most attention on the news report, but the reply included underneath, spelled out in capital letters right on the evening news.

While it might have simply been an oversight, one Twitter user pointed out, ‘I like to think they did check.’
