This ‘Proposal’ For A New RTÉ Show Would Have Millions Tuning In Each Week Guaranteed

Darragh Berry

RTÉ just released its summer schedule for 2018 which is such a shame because if this proposal had been submitted beforehand, it would have been impossible to say no to.

Everyone knows the concept of ‘Say Yes To The Dress’, but this would be one hundred times better.

For those of you who don’t know, SYTTD sees a soon-to-be bride try on a load of different dresses with her bridesmaids and/or different family members by her side and each dress is scrutinised and cried at until eventually they find the one of their dreams.

In dramatic television style, the owner of the store asks the vital question and after a 158 second pause, the bride exclaims the title of the show when she finds the right one.

Everyone loses their shit, enough tears flow to fill the Shannon and the Liffey combined, end scene.

BORING.

This Today FM Twitter user has came up with the idea of dropping the dress and adding the ‘sesh’ for a television show that would end all television shows.

He said that: “RTE needs to create a show called ‘Say Yes To The Sesh’ where a group of friends go round to one lad’s house to convince him to go for pints.

“Sitting down looking at him while he tries a few different cans.

“It’d be an emotional rollercoaster.”

I’d watch that, hell, I’d take part in that every week as either the convincer or the ‘convincee’.

Imagine the craic you’d have filming this too. We know this was meant as a piss-take but 100%, the bosses at RTÉ should be considering this for the Autumn schedule.

They’d have absolutely no bother finding people.
