If there’s one thing us Irish love it’s validation from foreign celebrities. Just makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
The latest bit of praise one of countrymen has received is from Russell Crowe, who applauded Anton Savage argument against Irish Catholic columnist David Quinn on TV3’s The Tonight Show; Quinn was making the point that men are overwhelmingly responsible for construction the world over, but Savage was quick to point out the flaw in that line of logic.
The Gladiator star retweeted this clip with the words “hahaha the lad is on a roll” after Savage demolished Quinn’s argument, whose only comeback was, “you’ve obviously rehearsed this”, to which Savage replied with the sickest of burns, “well I’ve given it some thought — unlike you”.

I think we’re all with Mr Crowe here and we can agree that the former Today FM presenter admirably proved himself both Savage by name and savage by nature.
