People Have Found One Major Problem With Saoirse Ronan’s Harper’s Bazaar Cover

How many people signed off on this, though?

Saoirse Ronan’s Harper’s Bazaar cover landed this morning and it’s already getting a lot of attention for various reasons – and none of them very positive.

Here is the cover in question, which features Saoirse dressed up in her Mary Queen Of Scots garb to coincide with the movie’s release in cinemas.

While many are pointing out that Saoirse is almost unrecognisable thanks to some heavy-handed photoshop, the real issue lies in the accompanying caption.

‘The Great Spirit of Britain… together we are strong’.

Yes, it seems that once again – someone has forgotten that Saoirse is Irish and that Ireland is not a part of Great Britain.

It’s not a difficult concept, guys.

However, some have argued that it’s Saoirse’s role as Mary Queen of Scots that embodies the “Spirit of Great Britain” and not Saoirse herself.

Either way, as your Dad would say – people are talking about the cover, aren’t they?!
