Strap Yourselves In – There’s A Serious Amount Of Live Sport On Telly This Weekend

James Fenton

Parts of Ireland have been hit by snow this week and, as we’ve come to learn in recent years, that’s a sure sign that spring isn’t far away.

With that comes the return of the Six Nations as Ireland look to repeat their Grand Slam success of last year and get 2019 off to the perfect start. England are the visitors to the Aviva Stadium this Saturday for the opening bout of what is hopefully a memorable campaign but if you reckon that’s all you have to look forward to this weekend then you better think again.

The TV schedule is simply bursting with potential sporting classics all weekend as the National Hurling and Football Leagues get into full swing, Ireland’s women hope to secure their own victory over England and the Premier League season takes another step towards a nail-biting conclusion. All that’s before we even mention the small matter of Super Bowl 53.

So cancel all your plans, get the pizza in or, better yet, hit the nearest pub for what should be an unforgettable weekend. Here’s what’s in store…
