Sex Education Season 2 Has Officially Been Confirmed By Netflix

Kiara Keane

Netlix has just confirmed that their hugely popular new series Sex Education has been renewed for another season.

Already shaping one of the biggest hit shows of 2019, it was watched by a massive 40,000 households within the first month of its premiere.

The teen comedy follows best friends Otis and Eric navigating life at the fictional Moordale High, made all the more difficult and awkward by the fact that Otis’ mum (played by none other than Gillian Anderson) is a sex therapist.

When Otis decides to start offering sex and relationship advice to his classmates at school to make some money along with his crush Maeve, chaos inevitably ensues.

Netflix giant announced the good news about season two with a Mean Girls inspired video of Otis’ classmates talking about how much they love (and hate) him:

Series creator Laurie Nunn said, “The reception to series one has been so exciting. Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible.

“I’m hugely grateful to every person that has taken the time to watch the series, and I can’t wait to continue this amazing journey.”

No word yet on when we’ll be seeing season two arrive on our screens but we do know it will be eight episodes long, just like season one, and filming is set to start this spring.

All your favourite characters will be making a comeback, too – main cast members including Asa Butterfield (Otis), Ncuti Gatwa (Eric) Gillian Anderson (Otis’ mum) and Emma Mackey (Maeve) have all signed up for the next instalment.
