People Found One Thing Very Annoying About The Shergar Doc On RTÉ On Tuesday Night

It’s been 35 years since Shergar was kidnapped and went missing.

It is one of the great mysteries of the modern age and presenter-director Alison Millar set out to see if she could shed a new light on the kidnapping of a racehorse that was worth a staggering €10m when it was stolen.

However, it was in fact, Millar who became the talk of the whole documentary as people could not stand one aspect about her.

Probably the most important thing about someone’s narration is their voice and Millar was slated for hers.

The documentary which went out at 9:35pm on RTÉ on Tuesday night showed how the country went into a state of ‘National Alert’ following the kidnap of Shergar.

The trail of the kidnap led racing journalists to head to Belfast where the kidnappers directed them to a well-known trainer’s house.

Calls were tracked by the police and ransoms were asked for by the kidnappers who wanted as much as €5m from one of the horse’s investors, Aga Khan or else “it would be the end for the horse.”

The kidnappers never called again and no ransom was ever paid.

Shergar’s remains have never been found and those who stole the horse have never been officially identified although Millar said in the documentary that she had confirmation that the IRA was responsible.
