Action, sci-fi, horror and Oscar-winning drama are all on tonight’s TV viewing menu.

Star Trek: Generations – FilmFour – 6.30pm

With the help of long presumed dead Captain Kirk (William Shatner), Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart) must stop a deranged scientist (Malcolm McDowell) willing to murder on a planetary scale in order to enter a space matrix.

Bullitt – ITV4 – 9pm

An all-guts, no-glory San Francisco cop (Steve McQueen) becomes determined to find the underworld kingpin that killed the witness in his protection.

Jackie – FilmFour – 9pm

Following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy (Natalie Portman) fights through grief and trauma to regain her faith, console her children, and define her husband’s historic legacy.

The Exorcist – BBC Four – 10pm

When a 12-year-old girl (Linda Blair) is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother (Ellen Bursytn) seeks the help of two priests to save her.

Black Hawk Down – ITV4 – 11.20pm

The story of 160 elite U.S. soldiers who dropped into Mogadishu in October 1993 to capture two top lieutenants of a renegade warlord, but found themselves in a desperate battle with a large force of heavily-armed Somalis. Stars Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Orlando Bloom, Tom Hardy and more more.

The Last Waltz – TG4 – 12.05am

Martin Scorsese directs the documentary which accounts the final concert of The Band. Includes Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, Neil Young and many more.
