Slane Castle hoping to return with double gig next year

I don’t think there is one person who hasn’t desperately missed live gigs during the pandemic. And we all know there is nothing like the buzz and atmosphere experienced at an outdoor gig.

Slane Castle is set to bring that back in 2022, and it may even come in the form of a double gig.

The pandemic and subsequent restrictions have had quite an effect on the entertainment industry, and Slane Castle owner, Lord Henry Mountcharles has explained how he hopes to bring live shows back to the Co Meath venue:

“We are looking at a show – and very possibly two – next year. I see it returning in the summer of 2022 and I want to come back with a big show.”

Mountcharles is set to celebrate his 70th birthday soon after a battle with cancer. He explained that he is eager to bring live gigs back to Slane Castle to celebrate the return of live music events.

The last double gig at the castle in the same year saw Bon Jovi and Eminem headline two months apart in 2013.
