Whether it’s one millimeter or six feet, when it comes to snow, as long as it’s white it counts.
Since the Beast From The East, Irish people have become obsessed with the white stuff.
We’re not sure whether it’s because we all got a day off work with it or because of the pandemonium that followed because we were all trapped in our house but we just love the news that snow is on the way.
So, when snow and sleet was forecasted for Wednesday morning, people were praying that their area would be hit, even if it was just a little sprinkle on the ground.

Pictured above is Keadeen Mountain in Wicklow and Mount Leinster which is situated on the Carlow and Wexford border.
We know it’s not much but it does seem to be the start of more snowy days that are headed for Ireland.
Wednesday will be cold with some scattered rain or hail showers, mainly affecting southern and eastern coastal counties, especially later.
There’ll be overnight lows of 0 to 4 degrees Celsius and patchy frost will develop where skies clear, in a light to moderate easterly breeze.
