Amazon launching one-hour booze delivery

Dylan Varian

There is nothing worse than getting through a bottle of wine, or a few beers, heading to the fridge to get another and then realising that you’re all out.

You can’t drive to the shop to get any more because well, that’s illegal. So what do you do? Besides walk down the road to the closest place to get some booze there is not much you can do. But what if you can’t leave the house? Well Amazon is about to have you covered.

Residents of Seattle can now get one-hour delivery on tens of thousands of items like paper towels, wine, beer, chilled and frozen items like milk and ice cream, televisions and Kindle devices. But let’s be honest here, the most important thing on that list is the booze.

“Prime Now is our fastest delivery option ever. With Prime Now, you can skip a trip to the store and get the items you need delivered right to your door in under an hour,” said Stephenie Landry, director of Amazon’s Prime Now service.

Prime members can download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, and be notified when the service is available in their area.

While it may be awhile yet until it’s in your area, will you use it once it arrives? If Amazon is good at anything, it’s logistics.
