Whatifi is a Dublin based Geo Located next day dating mobile app that's launching in February (date to be confirmed). Nights out in the capital can get crazy and you don't always get to speak to all the people you might want to and this app promises to change all that.
Ken Fitzgerald is the founder of Whatifi. The idea came about just over a year ago when he was attending a Leinster rugby game in the RDS. After the match himself and his mates were having a few pints in the popular O'Donoghues Bar on Merrion Row. He noticed that even though the pub was packed, they only ever socialised within their direct group. Ken figured that there must be a way to connect people that shared social experiences but may not have crossed paths yet.
He linked up with co-founder and CTO Conan Moriarty to develop Whatifi. The brand name is inspired straight from the "What If" scene in George Clooney's movie Out Of Sight. The premise being "What If I could connect with someone I saw in a bar or club last night but for whatever reason didn't get a chance to speak to them. How could that possibly change my life?".
What the App Does
Whatifi checks users in at each pub club and gig they attend over the course of a night out. The next day the user can review their social timeline from the night before and connect with people that attended the same venues. Think Foursquare meets Plenty of Fish, except Whatifi's check-ins are automatic.
