This Checkout-Free Physical Amazon Store Is Literally The Future

Alana Laverty

No lines, no checkouts – just choose what you want, grab it and go!

We like the sound of that…

Customers tap their mobile phones on a turnstile as they walk into the shop, which logs them into the store’s network and connects to their Amazon account through an app.

It’s called Amazon Go and first came about in 2012, and they’ve been working on it ever since with the hopes of launching it in 2017.

Pretty slick if you ask us.

The first and only store is in Seattle but is only in beta testing for now and only Amazon employees in Seattle can use it.

Bring this to Ireland – we’d definitely use it when running around on our lunch breaks.
