The creators of Stranger Things have been criticised for their handling of a kiss scene between two child actors on the show.
The scene in question takes place in the last episode of season two at the Snow Ball, where Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink) are dancing together and share a kiss.
The kiss was not originally in the script, but in Netflix’s behind-the-scenes companion series Beyond Stranger Things, Ross Duffer, one of the show’s creators, revealed that after he’d noticed that the 15-year-old Sink was so “freaked out” by a joke that she and McLaughlin should kiss, he felt that “well, I gotta make her do it now”.
Upon learning of the circumstances surrounding the kiss scene, some viewers expressed concern.
This happens on sets all the time. Being presented with a “script change”. Call it what u will, it’s not ok. Enough. https://t.co/SbFq8omrEG

The two grown men that created Stranger Things forced a child to kiss another child while they filmed.

Apparently it goes deeper than adults leering at #StrangerThings child actors. This interview is plain terrifying. https://t.co/tPSgPi77Ub
