‘The Crown’ Has Cast Its Margaret Thatcher And Everyone Thinks It’s A Very Left Field Choice

The release of the third season of The Crown is getting ever-closer and it’s fair to say a very strong cast is set to take over from the first batch of stars on the drama.

Due to the fact that each season takes place in a different era of Royal Family history, the Netflix show is replacing the main cast with stellar line-up which already includes Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth, Toby Menzies as Prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret but it’s the casting of another Margaret that has set tongues wagging today.

According to reports, The XFiles star Gillian Anderson has signed up to play former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in season four.

The 50-year-old has recently been appearing in Sex Education, another Netflix production, and while her star is currently quite high, people are a bit baffled by the decision…

Series three is of The Crown is due to be released later this year and it looks like we’ll have to wait until 2020 at least to see how Agent Scully gets on as everyone’s least favourite PM.
