The Late Late Show wraps up for another season this week and they’re pulling out all the stops to make sure this unusual series goes out with a bang.
When The Late Late Show returns in September, you would hope that some kind of studio audience will be allowed back in. Ryan Tubridy has tipped along in an empty studio since the outbreak of the pandemic and tomorrow will be no different, unfortunately.
Still, the guest list to end the series is a stellar one with King of The Toy Show Adam King leading the way. The young man captured the hearts of a nation back in November and he’ll be back this week, alongside his family, to bring news of a special gift from a very important person that was hand-delivered to their home in Cork.
Two of Ireland’s Olympic queens will also be on as gold medalist Katie Taylor gives her first in-depth Late Late Show interview since turning to professional boxing five years ago. Meanwhile, Sonia O’Sullivan will join the show from her new base in the US to talk about her incredible Olympic medal win back in 2000.
Speaking of the Olympics, Ryan will meet some of Ireland’s team for Tokyo 2021 including Natalya Coyle (modern pentathlon), Brendan Irvine (flyweight boxer), Nhat Nguyen (badminton), Aoife Cooke (marathon runner), and Rhys McClenaghan (gymnast).
Music will come from The Late Late Show Soul Band, fronted by Lucia Evans and you can watch it all on Friday on RTÉ One from 9.35pm.
