All six core stars of the original cast of the hit TV show Friends have all signed on for a reunion special.
Talk of a Friends reunion has been floating around for what seems like years at this point, but to be honest, we never thought it was going to actually happen.
Until now that is when American TV network HBO confirmed the news we've all been dreaming of - that a Friends reunion episode is most definitely happening. Almost 16 years after the series finale aired.
All six core members will return for the special episode which includes David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Anniston and Lisa Kudrow.
Announcing the news last night, each cast member posted the same image to Instagram, alongside the caption: "It's happening".
The reunion will come in the form of a one-off untitled, unscripted episode featuring cameos from the series' creators David Crane and Martha Kauffman.
According to reports, the cast will be paid more than double their former per-episode fee, earning between $2.5 and $3 million for the episode.
Aiming to create hype about the upcoming launch of HBO Max, the special along with the entire library of past episodes will stream exclusively on the service.
No official launch date for the service has been announced as of yet, but it's believed to be sometime in May.
Filming will take place on Stage 24 of the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California - the same filming location as the original series.
Speaking of the news, Kevin Reilly, chief content officer and HBO Max president said:
"Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together - we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library."
He later added:
"It taps into an era when friends - and audiences - gathered together in real-time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans."
Looks like we finally have more than just a pla (if you know, you know).
