These are the 10 best movies on TV tonight

Happy Sunday homies. Our last weekend in full lockdown is coming to a close and we’ve spent most of it glued to the couch. Between the Toy Show on Friday night, Netflix and all the other movies on TV – there’s been plenty of telly to get through.

One might think that we’d have run out of steam by now, but not so… far from it in fact. So without further ado, here’s our pick of the 10 best movies on TV tonight should you feel like joining us in having a very lazy Sunday too.

Deck the Halls – 6:15pm – Channel 5

Self-proclaimed Christmas ‘expert’ Steve Finch (Matthew Broderick) is given a run for his money when new guy Buddy Hall (Danny DeVito)moves to town and decides that he wants his festive lights display to be visible from space. Kristin Davis and Kristin Chenoweth also star.

The Karate Kid – 6:30pm – Comedy Central

The original 1984 movie, it tells the story of a martial arts master who agrees to teach karate to a young New Jersey teenager so he can face his school bullies at the All-Valley Karate Tournament.

Back to the Future: Part III – 6:40pm – ITV2

Doc and Marty McFly return for the final instalment of the Back to the Future trilogy. Stranded in 1955, Marty learns of Doc’s death in 1885 and must travel back in time to try to save him before returning to 1985 together.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation – 9pm – FilmFour

Tom Cruise stars as Impossible Missions Force agent Ethan Hunt. On the run from the CIA, he takes on his most daunting challenge yet as he attempts to eradicate a network of highly-skilled international operatives dedicated to establishing a new world order through terrorist attacks. Jeremy Renner, Rebecca Ferguson and Simon Pegg also feature throughout.

Red 2 – 9pm – Comedy Central 

Former CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. Starring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and Anthonny Hopkins.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – 9pm – E4

The second in a trilogy of films based on The Hobbit novel by JRR Tolkien, the film follows Bilbo Baggins and his companions on a quest to the Lonely Mountain where they must face the fearsome dragon Smaug.

 

The Hunt for Red October – Sky One – 10pm 

Set during the Cold War era, a Soviet submarine commander seemingly goes rogue as he pilots his nuclear vessel toward the American coastline. Starring the late Sean Connery as Marko Ramius, the Commanding Officer of Red October.

The Bourne Supremacy – 11pm – ITV4

Action thriller that sees the return of Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, a former CIA assassin suffering from psychogenic amnesia. Framed for a CIA operation gone wrong, he’s forced to resort to his former ways as he tries to remember details from his past.

That Awkward Moment – 11pm – Comedy Central Extra 

Three newly single friends make a pact to have fun and avoid commitment in an attempt to avoid further heartbreak. Rom-com starring Zac Efron, Miles Teller, Michael B Jordan and Imogen Poots.

Mickybo and Me – 11:02pm – TG4

Two young boys living in Belfast at the start of The Troubles – one Catholic, one Protestant – become friends. Sharing an obsession with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, they decide to run away to Australia together.
