SATURDAY

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Sky One – 9pm

Fearing that the actions of Superman (Henry Cavill) are left unchecked, Batman (Ben Affleck) takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit – FilmFour – 9pm

Jack Ryan (Chris Pine), as a young covert C.I.A. analyst, uncovers a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack.

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery – Comedy Central – 9pm

A world-class playboy (Mike Myers) and part-time secret agent from the 1960s emerges after thirty years in a cryogenic state to battle with his nemesis Dr. Evil (also Mike Myers).

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies – Channel 4 – 9pm

Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and company are forced to engage in a war against an array of combatants and keep the Lonely Mountain from falling into the hands of a rising darkness.

Wanted – ITV4 – 11.25pm

A frustrated office worker (James McAvoy) discovers that he is the son of a professional assassin, and that he shares his father’s superhuman killing abilities.

I Went Down – RTE One – 12am

An ex-con (Brendan Gleeson) is forced into taking on a new task by a ruthless crime-boss, but finds he is hindered by the partner (Peter McDonald) he has been teamed up with. However, he soon realises they must work together if they are to survive.

Bedazzled – Comedy Central – 7pm

Hopeless dweeb Elliot Richards (Brendan Fraser) is granted seven wishes by the Devil (Elisabeth Hurley) to snare Allison (Frances O’Connor), the girl of his dreams, in exchange for his soul.

Manchester by the Sea – RTE Two – 9pm

A depressed uncle (Casey Affleck) is asked to take care of his teenage nephew (Lucas Hedges) after the boy’s father dies.

True Lies – FilmFour – 9pm

A fearless, globe-trotting, terrorist-battling secret agent (Arnie!) has his life turned upside down when he discovers his wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) might be having an affair with a used-car salesman (Bill Paxton) while terrorists smuggle nuclear war heads into the United States.

Step Brothers – ITV4 – 9pm

Two aimless middle-aged losers (Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly) still living at home are forced against their will to become roommates when their parents marry.

Conan The Barbarian – ITV4 – 11.05pm

A young boy, Conan (Arnie again!), becomes a slave after his parents are killed and tribe destroyed by a savage warlord and sorcerer, Thulsa Doom (James Earl Jones). When he grows up he becomes a fearless, invincible fighter. Set free, he plots revenge against Thulsa Doom.

A Time To Kill – Channel 4 – 11.35pm

In Canton, Mississippi, a fearless young lawyer (Matthew McConaughey) and his assistant (Sandra Bullock) defend a black man (Samuel L. Jackson) accused of murdering two white men who raped his ten-year-old daughter, inciting violent retribution and revenge from the Ku Klux Klan.
