These are the five best movies on TV for your St. Patrick’s night in

Rory Cashin

Horror. Action. And loads of comedy. It all depends on what you’re in the mood for!

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

With all of the usual March 17th options not really available to us this year, then we fully recommend sitting in and enjoying a movie this evening!

Misery – FilmFour – 9pm

After a famous author (James Caan) is rescued from a car crash by a fan (Kathy Bates) of his novels, he comes to realise that the care he is receiving is only the beginning of a nightmare of captivity and abuse.

Deadpool – E4 – 9pm

Ryan Reynolds gets another chance at the superhero (after the disaster that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine), and does a MUCH better job of it this time around.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues – RTE Two – 9.30pm

With the 1970s behind him, San Diego’s top-rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to take New York City’s first twenty-four-hour news channel by storm.

Girls Trip – FilmFour – 11.10pm

When four lifelong friends (Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish) travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there’s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.

Wild Tales – FilmFour – 1.35am

This Oscar-nominated Spanish-language comedy involves six short stories that explore the extremities of human behaviour involving people in distress. Highly recommended.
