These are the five best movies on TV tonight

Rory Cashin

We’re not gonna lie, all five of tonight’s movies are very good, so this will actually be a tough choice for you!

Have you seen the weather out there??

That is a big no thank you from us!

Best to just stay in and check out one of these instead.

The 40-Year-Old Virgin – Comedy Central – 9pm

Steve Carrell is the really nice guy who has lived his life without, y’know, doing the deed. So his new friends at the tech store he works at – including Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen – try to help him find a girlfriend to pop his cherry.

The Bone Collector – FilmFour – 9pm

When he is paralysed from the neck down, a genius detective (Denzel Washington) must rely on a rookie cop (Angelina Jolie) to solve a series of increasingly violent murders in the city.

Napoleon Dynamite – Comedy Central Extra – 9pm

Gosh. How do we even describe the plot of this comedy? A high-schooler (Jon Heder) tries to help his best friend Pedro (Efren Ramirez) win school president. But it is also about dresses with nice shoulder puffs and throwing footballs over mountains. Just watch it.

Die Hard With A Vengeance – ITV4 – 10pm

The third outing for John McClane – and the second best in the series, don’t @ me – sees the cop return to New York and team up with Samuel L. Jackson in order to stop the brother of Hans Gruber from pulling off one of the most audacious bank robberies in cinema history.

Slumdog Millionaire – FilmFour – 11.20pm

Winner of eight Oscars including Best Picture, we get the story of a Mumbai teenager (Dev Patel) as he reflect on his life after being accused of cheating on the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
