Your Wednesday night movies on TV viewing menu has arrived!
We’re at the midpoint of the week, and the TV overlords have helped us to celebrate with this very decent selection of movies on TV tonight!
The Huntsman: Winter’s War – FilmFour – 6.35pm
Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain, and Emily Blunt star in this sorta-prequel to the Snow White tale, which really leans into the Game of Thrones influences.
Zombieland – Comedy Central – 9pm
In a zombie-filled post-apocalypse, four strangers decide to go on a road-trip in search of somewhere safe to set up a new life. Comedy-horror starring Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin.
Searching – FilmFour – 9pm
John Cho is the panicked father whose daughter has suddenly gone missing, so he attempts to locate her using her laptop and cellphone, as the entire thriller plays out on those screens.
Under Siege – TCM – 9pm
A lowly cook (Steven Seagal) might be the only thing that can stop Tommy Lee Jones taking over a US battleship, because it turns out that cook is actually a Navy Seal. Because of course he is. This is basically Die Hard on a Boat, and that is perfectly fine with us.
The Untouchables – ITV4 – 10pm
Kevin Costner and Sean Connery star in this brilliant crime thriller about a group of detectives who push the limits of the law to take down Al Capone’s (Robert DeNiro) crime empire.
The Lovely Bones – FilmFour – 11.05pm
Saoirse Ronan stars in this fantasy drama as a 14-year-old murder victim whose spirit stays behind to watch over her family, just as her father and sister begin to follow the clues to find her murderer, who is already planning to strike again.
Southpaw – Channel 4 – 12.05am
Jake Gyllenhaal in this tearjerking drama as a champion boxer who is forced to deal with an immense tragedy, forcing him to essentially begin his career from scratch.
