Not one but TWO very good, very recent Irish movies are on TV tonight.

Making your way into the weekend, why not decompress with a movie or two tonight?

Here are six for you to choose from…

Upgrade – FilmFour – 9pm

After barely surviving a horrific car crash, Logan Marshall-Green has some cybernetic upgrades to his body, but the A.I. within them begins to learn and take over his bodily functions, ending in some extreme violence against anyone he crosses paths with.

The Cured – RTE Two – 9.30pm

Tom Vaughn-Lawlor and Elliot Page star in this slow-burn horror, focusing on a zombie outbreak in Ireland, and the survivors attempting to rebuild their lives.

Black ’47 – Virgin Media One – 9.30pm

An Irish soldier returns home in the midst of the Black Plague in 1847, only to discover his entire family has been killed. He decides to get revenge on the local British soldiers who had a hand in his family’s demise.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant – MTV – 10.30pm

The third and final part of the Divergent series sees the group of teenage rebels attempting to escape from a tightly-run Chicago in a sorta-dystopian future.

Tropic Thunder – BBC One – 12.35am

Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jnr., and Jack Black star as actors in a war movie, who end up getting kidnapped by local criminals, but believe it is all a part of their tempermental director’s attempts to find realism.

Double Jeopardy – FilmFour – 1.10am

Ashley Judd is put in prison for years after she is falsely accused of her husband’s murder. But when she discovers he actually faked his own death and blamed her on it, she sets about a long-term plan of vengance.
