Action, comedy, romance… they’re all on the TV menu tonight!

Thursday is basically Friday, which is basically the weekend.

And what do we do at the weekend?

We watch movies!

Congo – FilmFour – 6.55pm

Laura Linney and Tim Curry star in this adventure from the same author as Jurassic Park, dealing with a group of scientists who travel deep into the jungle to attempt to discover what happened to the previous scientific expedition that went in ahead of them.

The Other Guys – Comedy Central – 9pm

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are two detectives who are trying to emulate the two most popular cops in the precinct (The Rock and Sam Jackson), but end up getting embroiled in a huge case and get in way over their heads.

Educating Rita – BBC Four – 9pm

Michael Caine and Julie Walters star is teacher and pupil in this story about two people who begin to help each other question their lot in life.

Rush Hour 2 – ITV4 – 10.30pm

Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan re-team-up for this action-comedy, which sees the now besties work together on an even-more-dangerous, international case.

13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi – FilmFour – 11.15pm

Michael Bay directs this tense action-thriller, as John Krasinski plays one of several soldiers attempting to defend a US embassy in Libya from local extremists.

Just Friends – Comedy Central – 11.20pm

Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart are the grown-up versions of teenage best friends, and when he returns home after years away, his unrequited love for her begins to surface once again.
