Kick your weekend off right!

Chances are you’ll be watching The Late Late Toy Show and/or the Graham Norton show tonight, but in case you’re not and are looking for alternative entertainment for your Friday night, then look no further!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey – E4 – 9pm

The first in the prequel trilogy sees the group of dwarves begin their journey back to their homeland, while a younger Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) tags along, sending him on a collision course with the One True Ring.

Die Hard 4.0 – FilmFour – 9pm

Arguably the third best Die Hard movie (after the first one and third one), it finds Bruce Willis trying to stop a group of cyber hackers from bringing all of America to its knees.

The Expendables – Comedy Central  – 9pm

All of the big muscle’y men in the world star in this action movie that is almost a parody of action movies, but loads of things explode. So maybe that is enough for your Friday night.

How To Be Single – RTE Two – 9.45pm

Dakota Fanning, Rebel Wilson, Leslie Mann, and Alison Brie star in this romantic comedy about four ladies who are navigating the complicated world of being single in the big city.

Looper – Sky One – 11.10pm

Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt play the same person from two different timelines, both of them assassins, but the one from the future has come back to stop himself from being killed in the future… It is all a bit confusing, but it is also a brilliant sci-fi action thriller.

In The Line of Fire – RTE One – 11.55pm

Clint Eastwood stars as a Secret Service agent who is trying to protect the President from John Malkovich’s wannabe assassin. A tense, well-made trailer.
