These are the six best movies on TV tonight

Rory Cashin

Tonight seems stacked with great thrillers, which is totally fine with us!

Is it just us, or has this week absolutely FLOWN by?? How is it Thursday already???

Anyways, with another weekend just one sleep away, here are a handful of decent flicks to pick from this evening.

Pitch Perfect 2 – FilmFour – 6.45pm

After a disastrous performance in the national competition, the Bellas find they are banned from ever performing again… but only in America, so they take their talents to the world championships in an effort to repair their reputation.

The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas – BBC Four – 8pm

Two young boys become friends in Nazi-ruled Germany, despite being constantly separated by a fence, with one of the boys completely unaware that on the other side there is a concentration camp.

Searching – FilmFour – 9pm

John Cho plays the panicking father of a missing teenage girl, with the entire movie plays out on his phone and laptop, as he attempts to piece together digital evidence to find where she might be.

Crimson Tide – ITV4 – 9pm

Gene Hackman is the captain of a nuclear submarine who believes he has received orders to fire missiles on Russia, but his second-in-command Denzel Washington wants to wait for clearer directives from the Pentagon, leading to a tense stand-off between the entire crew.

The Matrix Reloaded – TCM – 9pm

The over-stuffed sequel doesn’t match the giddy heights of the original, and leans a little too heavily on the computer game’ish graphics, but there is still a lot of amazing sci-fi action to be enjoyed in here.

Gone Girl – FilmFour – 11.05pm

When his wife suddenly goes missing, all evidence points to a guilty-looking husband (Ben Affleck) having killed her, but it looks like the wife (Rosamund Pike) has had this plan in motion for a very long time.
