This Famous Irish Celeb To Get A Very Special And Rare Award From Michael D. Higgins

Darragh Berry

Famous Irish actor, Liam Neeson, is to be honoured by President Michael D. Higgins with a Presidential Distinguished Service Award this Friday.

According to The Irish Sun, the 65-year-old was unable to attend the original awards ceremony in November.

He was one of 10 Irish people whose work abroad was recognised by the President and as well as receiving the award on Friday, he will appear on The Late Late Show too.

What a treat for Mr Neeson.

And, a third reason why Friday is so special for Neeson is the fact that he is currently in Dublin to promote his new movie, ‘The Commuter’, which is premiering in Cineworld on Parnell Street on, you guessed it, FRIDAY NIGHT.

The award will be presented at Aras an Uachtaran and recognises Neeson’s work with Unicef for over two decades.

Part of the citation for Neeson’s award states that: “As an extremely gifted and internationally renowned film actor, Liam Neeson has helped to raise Ireland’s profile and awareness of Ireland and Irish artists around the world, especially in the United States where he is based.”

Congrats Liam, we doubt your Friday night will be topped tomorrow.
