This Farmhouse Cottage In Wicklow Was Named RTÉ’s Home Of The Year Last Night

James Fenton

Last night, the nation gathered into cramped living rooms in overpriced gaffs to find out out the winner of RTÉ’s Home Of The Year 2018.

Overall, there were seven finalists for the judges to mull over ranging from a period-style family home in Belfast to an 18th century renovated mill in West Cork but in the end a humble Wicklow farmhouse won the day.

Owned by Patrick, an artist and Ros, the creative director of Avoca, the home is a converted farmhouse hidden in the Wicklow hills which the couple bought in the 1990s. The couple describe their home as their ‘piece of heaven’ and looking at the above video it’s hard to argue.

Any spare rooms, lads?
