Beatles fans, say goodbye to your productive evening.
A new documentary on the Fab Four called It Was Fifty Years Ago Today! The Beatles: Sgt. Pepper And Beyond has just been released on Irish Netflix.
The nearly two-hour long movie celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album and how it changed the image of The Beatles and the face of music forever.
Leaving aside the cuddly early image of The Beatles, the programme focuses on the more controversial aspects of the band such as when John Lennon declared them as “more popular than Jesus” and when Paul McCartney spoke openly about his use of LSD.
Including never-before-seen footage and stories about the Liverpool four-piece you’ve never heard before from the likes of original drummer Pete Best and John Lennon’s sister Julia, it looks like an absolute must-watch and perfect for a cosy evening in.
