Tiger King star John Reinke has reeled fans of the hit docu-series right back in with news that a series two of the show is on the way.
It’s been a while since we wrote about Joe Exotic or Tiger King, which means that we were due a story and John Reinke has provided us with just the intel we needed, saying that series two is on the way – and it sounds even more explosive than the first eight episodes… if that’s possible to believe.
Confirming the news to The Mirror, Reinke said that there are still “hundreds of hours” of unseen footage that producers are using to compile into a new series. Adding that Netflix has enough material for at least two or three episodes, he’s claimed that the videos are quite incriminating – predicting that they could even lead to the arrest of a few of Joe’s former cronies.
“There’s quite a lot of lives been turned upside down and I really don’t think it’s over yet. There’s going to be more lives turned upside down out of this deal.
I don’t think the FBI are done investigating everything and everybody involved in this Tiger King show. There’s more people probably going to go down for some stuff.”
As for who he’d like to see play him in upcoming film adaptations of the story? Reinke has set his sights high, suggesting Mattew McConaughey as a good fit for himself and actor David Spade for Joe Exotic himself.
There has also been talk of a documentary focusing in on Carole Baskin and the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her former husband Don Lewis. Investigation Discovery has commissioned the new show, promising fans of the original a closer look at the murky past of the Big Cat Rescue frontwoman and the blurry details of her missing ex-husband.
Doesn’t look like the world’s fascination with Tiger King is about to die down anytime soon.
