If you’re suffering from a case of the Mondays, never fear because RTÉ has got just what you need.
The national broadcaster is starting the week off right by showing a film which we’re not afraid to say is one of the funniest of the decade. 22 Jump Street combines the impish charms of Jonah Hill with the muscular brawn of Channing Tatum to provide a modern take on the ‘buddy cop’ genre.
A sequel to 2012’s 21 Jump Street, which was itself an adaptation of the 80s TV series of the same name, there are laughs aplenty as Hill and Tatum’s characters go back to college in an undercover attempt to locate the supplier of a popular drug called ‘WHY-PHY’.
There are tonnes of laughs along the way as the lads’ friendship is put to the test once more and it all leads up to an action-packed climax. Ice Cube and Dave Franco are among the strong supporting cast and if you haven’t seen 22 Jump Street yet it airs on RTÉ 2 tonight at 9.30pm.
