Turns Out You Can Fail A Drugs Test If You’ve Consumed This Vital Sandwich Ingredient

With Gardaí rolling out new drug testing rules for drivers across the country – it seems the whole nation is ablaze with drug test rumours, concerns and general questions. 

We spoke before how common painkillers can lead you to failing a roadside drug test, but who knew that something you had located in your bread bin could also lead you down the very same garden path. 

Yep, turns out that poppy seed bread could lead you to failing a drug test, according to Breaking News. 

British TV personality Angela Rippon tested positive for opiates following an ingestion of a loaf of bread with poppy seeds and a poppy seed bagel over the course of three days for the fourth series of Rip Off Britain: Food. 

The results she provided picked up the presence of morphine, a substance which can be derived from opium.

The British presenter stated of the incident: 

“In more than 50 years of broadcasting I’ve found myself in a number of extraordinary situations. But I must say I never thought I’d find myself taking a drugs test, let alone have it come back positive.”

Hilarious.
