In many Irish households, RTÉ's annual 'Late Late Toy Show' marks the beginning of Christmas. The toys, the gas kids and the surprise celebrity appearances are just what we need to get December underway.
We need not wait much longer because tonight sees the 2017 Toy Show take place and this morning the national broadcaster officially revealed what the theme would be for this years showcase.
While last year Ryan Tubridy entered to a chorus from The Jungle Book, this year he will head under the sea as The Little Mermaid takes centre-stage.

Ryan, who will be hosting his ninth Toy Show, said:
"We’re going under the sea, I think it’s going to be gorgeous and I’m going to be a crab lobster and that’s very different!
"And it’s just a different type of set, it lends itself to a different sort of vibe, the costumes, the colours. It’s going to be boatiful."
Will this year's entrance be better than last year's? We'll have to wait and see.
