Before Dougal McGuire took on the perilous role of Craggy Island milkman in Speed 3, their were a couple of action movies that set the tone.
The original Speed (or The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down if you're to believe Homer Simpson) is mostly fondly remembered for its high-octane drama and the rapport between Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock but it's fair to say the sequel hasn't exactly stood the test of time.
Universally panned upon its 1997 release, Speed 2: Cruise Control sees Reeves replaced by Jason Patric and the whole thing makes for a pretty pathetic, if hilarious, two hours. Luckily, for those who enjoy a good hate-watch of terrible movies, RTÉ is showing Jan de Bont-directed movie tonight.
Reviews of Speed 2 range from 'the biggest box office bomb of all time' to 'a despised sequel' and if you've yet to see it be sure to tune in to RTÉ 2 at 9pm. Get a taster in the trailer below.
