The ‘Stranger Things’ Season Three Release Date Will Upset You

James Fenton

Ah man Stranger Things Season 2 is over and we’re absolutely gasping for more of those crazy 80s adventures with Will, Eleven and the gang.

The last episode left us with the grim feeling that we haven’t seen the last of the Mind Flayer and upside down world. What happens next? What new mysterious creatures and supernatural happenings will the gang come across now?

Well, you might have to wait longer than you’d hoped.

In an interview with Variety, David Harbour who plays Jim Hopper, said that the third season might not premier until 2019.

That’s over a year away guys! What are we gonna do till then?

Netflix has already said it will show the third season but, according to Harbour, the Duffer brothers are still working on the scripts. They won’t be likely to start filming until at least April.

“Like any good thing,” he says, “[Ross and Matt] need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Matt Duffer said he anticipates having about four to five seasons to work with, but wants to “have a really finite ending” while the show is still at a height of success, rather than letting it draw out indefinitely.

Eh well, I guess a year gives us plenty of time to binge-watch the last 2 seasons over and over…
