Horror movies are a dime a dozen these days and with them comes the various techniques used to scare the utter bejaysus out of you.
By now, most of us are pretty au fait with the 'jump scare' or the 'mirror scare', so we can prepare ourselves when they come.
So far, so good.
But what happens when a movie works on so many levels that you're not quite sure what kind of scare to prepare for because it's a supernatural horror masquerading as a psychological horror?
That's exactly what Suspiria (a remake of the 1970s cult horror film of the same name) does to the viewer.
The trailer starts off with a young girl (Dakota Fanning) joining an intense dance school, where her headteacher (Tilda Swinton) demands the most from pupils.
Things start getting weird when girls go missing and some look like they can't cope with the demands of their teachers.
Add into the mix some secret passageways and hidden doors, and you have a good oul fright fest.
Perfect for the person who isn't ready to embrace Christmas just yet.
Check out the trailer below...if you still haven't recovered from Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House, we suggest you look away now.
In selected cinemas from the 16th of November.
