Netflix Is Remaking Matilda And Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

Prepare to relive your childhood with Netflix’s newest collection – an animated series of Roald Dahl’s classics.

Working in partnership with the Roald Dahl Story Company, we can expect to see Oompa Loompas, The BFG and Ms Trunchbull on our screens again.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the streaming service has said all the fan favourites will be included.

“Because a little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men… we’re pleased to announce a brand new Roald Dahl story universe is coming soon to Netflix.”

We can look forward to a re-imagined Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The BFG, The Twits, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, George’s Marvellous Medicine, Going Solo, The Enormous Crocodile, The Giraffe And The Pelly And Me, Henry Sugar, Esio Trot and more.

Speaking about the partnership, Roald Dahl’s widow Felicity said, “Our mission, which is purposefully lofty, is for as many children as possible around the world to experience the unique magic and positive message of Roald Dahl’s stories.

“This partnership with Netflix marks a significant move toward making that possible and is an incredibly exciting new chapter for the Roald Dahl Story Company. Roald would, I know, be thrilled.”

While we doubt they can top the magnificence of Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, we’re pretty sure it’s gonna be class.
