It’s the movie that turned the entire human race against sharks and it’s a credit to all involved that it still endures to this day.
Steven Spielberg’s Jaws was first released 44 years ago (yeah, we couldn’t believe that either) and whenever it’s repeated on TV it still leaves audiences covering their eyes and hiding behind the sofa.
Even those who have yet to see the monster thriller know all about its remarkable legacy and if that iconic score doesn’t still give you the heeby-jeebies then you’re a braver person than most.
Jaws will air on RTÉ 2 tonight at 9pm, giving you a couple of months to get over your fear of the sea before beach season kicks in.
