Lewis Capaldi leads possibly the funniest Graham Norton line-up in ages this week

James Fenton

The Graham Norton Show is always a great way to kick off the weekend and the line-up this Friday looks like one of the most entertaining in a long time.

Taking to the sofa will be the one and only Lewis Capaldi, a man who has almost become as well-known for his viral social media quips as he is for his undoubted musical talents.

Viewers will hope that the affable Scotsman will arrive with his usual array of side-splitting anecdotes but what we do know for sure is that he’ll be performing his single Before You Go in front of the studio audience.

From an amateur comedian to a professional one, Capaldi will be joined on the sofa by Hollywood icon Jim Carrey, who shot to fame by starring in some of the funniest movies of the 1990s. The Canadian will be talking about starring Dr. Robotnik, the villain in the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie.

Margot Robbie will also be on to talk about her Oscar-nominated turn in Bombshell, a movie in which she stars alongside Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman.

As well as that, Jodie Turner-Smith and Daniel Kaluuya will be telling Graham about starring together in the upcoming romantic drama Queen & Slim which is released in Ireland this weekend. The trailer for the film can be viewed below…

It all makes for a pretty entertaining line-up this week, we’re sure you’ll agree. You can catch The Graham Norton Show on BBC 1 on Friday at 11.15pm.
