Last night, RTE’s Dancing With The Stars waved goodbye to former boyband member Dayl Cronin.
The 23-year-old had been one of the favourites to win the contest but was eliminated last night at the semi-final stage.
That’s left only three contestants left in the competition, namely Aidan O’Mahony, Aoibhín Garrihy and Denise McCormack.
A number of people expressed disappointment online and some found an unusual place the point the finger – the Gardai Siochana.
Why you ask? Because O’Mahoney himself is a member of the force and people reckon there’s come kind of copper cahoots going on.
Other people who have gotten blamed are the people of Kerry and the GAA who are said to be voting for O’Mahoney as well due to his legendary status as a Gaelic Football hero in The Kingdom.
Poor Dayl. He’s a great dancer, but no match for the Gardai, the GAA and all of county Kerry. #DWTSIrl

Looks like the GAA and gardai were busy on the phones tonight #DWTSIrl

What a disappointing final lineup. Nothing against Gardai, GAA or Kerry but the wrong male celeb made the final #DWTSIrl #notthebetterdancer

@DWTSIRL Have to admit I cried for Dayl tonight, No disrespect to Aidan but he isn’t in the same league. ????????#DWTSIrl

Aside from blaming others, some people generally just couldn’t cope with Dayl’s exit…
At the risk of sounding like my mother: Dayl Cronin is the epitome of ‘well reared’. Still not right after that result ????????#DWTSIrl

I actually started crying when Dayl didn’t get through #DWTSIrl

#DWTSIrl has me crying for the second week in a row. Dayl and Ksenia are a fab pair, it’s not going to be the same without them.

It even affected the Spanish speakers among us…
Dancing With The Stars wraps up next Sunday with its grand final. Who will you be voting for?
