It was all set up for a glorious night at the Aviva but in the end the crowd shuffled out with broken hearts and shattered dreams as England defeated Ireland by a score of 32-20.
A repeat of last year’s Grand Slam is now out the window but with four games remaining we’re still in with a shout of retaining our Six Nations title. For that to happen though, Ireland will have to improve considerably on today’s performance.
Credit where it’s due, England played us off the park and we’ll just have to dust ourselves down and go again.
