Where were you when Boyzone were first introduced to the world on RTÉ’s Late Late Show in 1993? Granted, a lot of you weren’t even born but the clip has since become one of the most infamous in Irish pop culture.
To be fair to the lads, they were just young fellas trying to get their big break and it didn’t work out too bad for them in the end. However, given the cheesy dance moves and dodgy ’90s clobber, we’re all perfectly entitled to take the piss.
Some more footage has now emerged of Ronan, Steo, Mikey, Shane and Keith around the same time and it shows them practicing their routine on what seems to be a mucky football pitch.
If it’s crotch thrusts and football socks you’re after than look no further than this clip which was shared by @KillianM2 on Twitter and credited to TV producer Pat O’ Mahoney. The footage was taken for RTÉ magazine programme Gortnaclune in 1994 and it really is worth the watch.

You thought you’d gotten away with this one, lads.
