WATCH: RTÉ’s Spine-Tingling World Cup Opening Montage Will Get You Right In The Mood

All the waiting is over as today finally marks the beginning of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. All 64 games will be broadcast live on RTÉ or RTÉ Player, starting with hosts Russia against Saudi Arabia today.

As always, our national broadcaster has more than delivered on the montage front as they prepare to bring us a five-week football feast. All the famous moments and stars from the past are included as well as our Ray Houghton and Robbie Keane with the general point being that we don’t have to be there to enjoy it.
