The David Schwimmer Lookalike Thief Has Just Been Arrested

Police who were on the hunt for a criminal who looked just like Friends actor David Schwimmer have finally arrested their man.

Last month, Blackpool police released CCTV footage of a man carrying a crate of stolen cans and people were quick to point out that he looked just like Ross from Friends.

After the original story went viral, Schwimmer shared his own video on Twitter recreating the moment.

He wrote, ‘Officers, I swear it wasn’t me. As you can see, I was in New York.

‘To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation.’

Lancashire Police have now issued an update on the case via their Facebook page.

They wrote, ‘Following the appeal we posted looking for a man who resembles a well-known actor from the popular sitcom Friends, we now have an update.

‘Thanks to our colleagues Metropolitan Police Service, a 36-year-old man was arrested in Southall last night on suspicion of theft.

‘We would like to thank you all for the huge response we received and a special thanks to David Schwimmer for seeing the funny side of our appeal!’
