The final episode of the show aired in 1996.
Running for six years, across six seasons, for 148 episodes, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was a worldwide hit, and a show that is still remembered fondly, enjoyed as much today as it was when it first aired in September 1990.
To celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the beginning of the show, Will Smith has reunited with Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, Alfonso Ribeiro and DJ Jazzy Jeff in order to fully reminisce about the series.
The cast discuss their first impressions when initially asked to audition, to the legacy that the show has left behind, as well as paying tribute to the late, great James Avery, who played the iconic Uncle Phil, as he passed away in 2013.
As Will Smith states in an Instagram post about the show, “These are the people who made me who I am today.”
Just like the upcoming Friends reunion special, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion will be exclusive to HBO Max upon release, which is currently unavailable on this side of the Atlantic.
The reunion will be shown this week, on Thursday, November 19, so hopefully we don’t have long to wait before we can watch it in Ireland.
