While Watching Streak of a Saturday night might not be seen the trendiest of pursuits, the money that can be won on it certainly shouldn't be scoffed at.
Just appearing on the programme guarantees at least €10,000 and having recently had a ticket in the famous drum, courtesy of a lucky Christmas gift, this writer has first-hand experience of the disappointment that comes with not being pulled out.
That said, we can only be happy for this contestant last night who became the first player since 2011 to win €500,000 from spinning the wheel. 27-year-old Michelle Morgan from Roscommon had already bagged €22,000 by Winning Streak's various madcap games, which generally come down to picking the right number between one and ten.
While Michelle would likely have been content to go home with the aforementioned sum, she managed to beat all the other players to the big wheel and after giving it a hearty spin, her ball landed on the one and only €500,000 slot.
This was the first time that this has happened since 2011 and you can catch the magic moment from Saturday night below:

Michelle was duly embraced by a gang of disbelieving friends and family and it's surely a moment they'll never forget. What makes it even more special is that she was actually playing for her mother Mairead who was no doubt even more delighted.
Congrats to all. We're off out to buy another ticket.
